The path to art

The story of an artist says a lot about his art. That’s why I want to tell you about mine.

For this, we will first travel far into the past – to my childhood in West Berlin. As the daughter of a German post-war woman and an American soldier, I initially grew up in the metropolis of millions – and was able to take the best of these then still very different cultures for myself at an early age. But when I was eleven, I experienced something of a culture shock: moving to a rural village community. Because we left the open, turbulent West Berlin and became at home in a village in the middle of nature. And again, two cultures merged in my life – city-girl meets nature.

Later I studied English and German literature and worked for radio stations because I wanted to become a journalist. But I never forgot my true passion: Art

Following the heart

Since childhood I loved painting, drawing, handicrafts, pottery and sculpting – and that’s exactly what I returned to after my studies. From now on, being an artist was more than just a hobby. It was my calling.

I have followed my heart not only in the choice of my profession. I was drawn to Africa. At first, I thought I had found the love of my life there. But it turned out that my journey had another purpose: I found the way to myself and to God.

My exciting childhood, my path to creativity, the search for God as well as finding my inner harmony – all this flows into my art and makes it what it is: Spiritual ceramic art
