The story how a pot became art
This Vessel came out of the kiln with a huge s-crack all around. It is the horror of every potter. At first I was frustrated, disappointed and was about to simply dump it in the trash. But I hesitated, calmed down and pondered over the result. And it was as if God’s beautiful still small voice said: „Give it to Me and I’ll make a piece of art out of it“
I’m happy that I listened.
I sealed the crack with the symbol of our freedom, splashed some red glaze as a symbol of the blood of our covenant and placed a crown on top for our position in God’s kingdom.
And now this vessel tells the story of a healing. An inner healing that can only take place when we allow the Holy Spirit to do his work of healing deep inside of us. He is Master of closing wounds so deep we never imagined could heal again. It starts with receiving God’s grace. That grace is provided through what He accomplished with and by His beloved son Jesus Christ. And continues by allowing God’s Word to renew us from the inside out. It is God’s pure love that closes our wounds.
So wurde ein Topf zum Kunstobjekt
Dieses Gefäß kam mit einem riesigen S-Riss aus dem Ofen. Der Schrecken eines jeden Töpfers. Zuerst war ich frustriert, enttäuscht und wollte es einfach in den Müll werfen. Aber ich zögerte, beruhigte mich und grübelte über das Ergebnis nach. Und es war, als ob Gottes wunderbare stille sanfte Stimme sagte: „Gib es mir, und ich mache ein Kunstwerk daraus“.
Ich bin froh, dass ich darauf gehört habe.
Ich versiegelte den Riss mit dem Symbol unserer Freiheit, spritzte etwas rote Glasur als Symbol für das Blut unseres Bundes und setzte eine Krone darauf für unsere Stellung in Gottes Königreich.
Und jetzt erzählt dieses Gefäß die Geschichte einer Heilung. Einer innere Heilung, die nur stattfinden kann, wenn wir dem Heiligen Geist erlauben, tief in uns zu wirken. Er ist der Meister darin, selbst die Wunden zu schließen, von denen wir nie gedacht hätten, dass sie wieder heilen könnten. Es beginnt damit, Gottes Gnade zu empfangen. Diese Gnade erhalten wir durch das, was er mit und durch seinen geliebten Sohn Jesus Christus vollbracht hat. Weiter geht es, indem wir Gottes Wort erlauben, uns von innen heraus zu erneuern. Es ist Gottes reine Liebe, die unsere Wunden heilt.
